I’ve done a lot of research on secondary glazing and Clearamber’s Sekosnap system was the best solution for us. A lot of our Edwardian windows are painted shut and need front fixing systems. What I liked about Sekosnap is the elegant frames, they are removable and don’t rely on magnets & double sided tape (which is a nightmare to remove). It is also better suited for larger windows.
Installing the system wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be. We ended up buying a Mitre saw, which made our lives much easier. Also, we always sanded and painted the frames to achieve better colour match to our window frames.
I found ClearAmber’s customer service to be amazing. Easy to contact and sort any problems. Plastic sheets can be cut to size, etc. we also used it to put secondary glazing on our stained glass doors.
I would recommend it , but only if you are experienced DIYer with proper tools or have a handyman to help you.
What I would suggest to Clear Amber team is
- better printed instructions (how to measure, how many mm to add, etc)
-improve their packaging
The polycarbonate sheets arrived well packaged. They cut easily and were very straightforward to fit. They have made a very nice greenhouse roof. Very pleased with Clear Amber.

Bought Axgard for a 6m x 4m Gazebo. Great service - when i chased for earlier than informed delivery I had a quick reply, and materials arrived next day! Well wrapped, and all arrived in perfect condition. Great quality product - and easy to cut and drill without cracking etc - as described. I probably should have gone thicker than 3mm for Gazebo roof, but it works, with a few extra noggins. Really pleased I went with this product. Bring on the sunshine!
